Their “gateless” approach has already amassed a loyal 5 million-strong daily user base, despite competition from brand names like Soundcloud and Spotify. But when in early 2015 Audiomack was just starting to gain traction, they sought out Majestyk to help develop their assets.
At just 10 thousand users and a rudimentary iOS app, Audiomack was still very much in its growth stage. With just a song lister and music player, we knew we had our work cut out for us. We jumped in head-first, eager to support Audiomack’s lofty mission. Our interface redesign, sleek and modern, beckoned users to jam out to the latest hits and fan favorites alike, while simultaneously building the beloved Audiomack brand identity.
We introduced new functionalities like menus and sorting algorithms, which allowed for deeper user experiences. Music lovers could now easily curate custom playlists and keep tabs on all their favorite artists. We also iterated upon the app’s overall polish by refactoring its internal code, and ported the app over to Android platforms.
We built a custom notification system to ensure that users are having a seamless experience when interacting with the app. These have been optimized over the course of time to place in the best locations to make sure they are visible to users but also aren't blocking any functionality or CTA's.
With a completed iOS-Android ecosystem, a rich new feature list, and a refurbished backend, Audiomack had an app that would draw users by the millions and enable them to reach a global audience. The apps have since seen exponential growth; The Android edition alone garnered 10 thousand downloads in three days, and quickly surpassed 10 million downloads total. Moreover, daily user counts have increased by 400% in the last year, and the platform has premiered artists like Eminem and J. Cole. But we at Majestyk believe that this is just the start of the Audiomack takeover; their mission of democratizing the music industry, and of empowering budding musicians, has just begun.
